Aila trio is an experimental jazz trio based in Norway. The compositions on Shaped by Sea Waves, written by bass player, Aila Georgia Mae Wartel Collins, can be described as storytelling melodies that evoke a dreamlike state. Alongside Georgia’s compositions, the trio creates ground riveting soundscapes with their punk-ish free jazz beats and minimalist improvisations. There is always room for the musician’s individual stories within the framework of the compositions. The trio moves freely between free improvisational and composed material.
