Speaking in False Languages is janzie’s first full-length, solo album. The project chronicles solo improvisations that have been built out using aleatoric and indeterminant techniques, crafted into various atmospheres and textures, and finally knit together into a cohesive whole. Throughout the album, language, in the form of movie samples, field recordings, and FM/AM radio, takes center stage. This motif provides a center of focus for the album, allowing both comprehensible and unintelligible phrases to weave in and out of hectic electronics, hazy drones, and harsh noise passages. This album aims to capture a feeling of intimacy while constantly obfuscating itself, like listening to an old friend speaking in a foreign language.
